In our communities, we live, work, play and plan for the future.
Communities are the places we call home - the places where global issues become personal issues. Scott Plein, as a developer and as a citizen concerned, realizes the importance of the necessary balance between community and the environment and has implemented this principle not only on the projects Equinox develops and manages, but in his personal life.
In 2008 Mr. Plein received the 2008 Friends of Trees Award from the Fairfax County Tree Commission for his work in helping to write and pass legislation for the Commonwealth, which promotes the planting and protection of native vegetation in our suburban and urban areas.
In 2009 Mr. Plein's 385 acre White House Farm located in Luray Virginia, received the Page County Clean Water Farm of the Year Award from the Shenandoah Valley Soil and Water Conservation District. The White House Farm was awarded this distinction because of Mr. Plein's commitment and investment in progressive farming and preservation techniques.
