About East Gate Marketplace
Equinox assisted with registering East Gate Marketplace to become Loudoun County's first LEED Certified "Green" shopping center. Located at the newly constructed intersection of Tall Cedars Parkway and U.S. Route 50, just west of the Loudoun County/Fairfax County Line, the 194,000 square feet East Gate Marketplace anchors the dynamic mixed-use East Gate Community which opened October 2009. The shopping center is designed to meet LEED certification requirements. LEED is the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, which established performance criteria for the design of sustainable green buildings and development practices. |

Retail Overview

• Harris Teeter anchored retail/commercial center – approximately 150,000 square feet of retail and approximately 60,000 square feet of office space
• First “Green” shopping center in Loudoun County
• East Gate Marketplace has been registered as Loudoun County’s first LEED Certified “Green” shopping center incorporating sustainable design elements with an emphasis on indoor air quality, environmentally sound site design and environmentally friendly construction practices. This will result in a healthy, environmentally benign, energy efficient development featuring high performance building shell design and mechanical equipment.
