Scott is the founding principal of Equinox Investments, LLC, a real estate investment, development, and management firm specializing in community planning, entitlements, and project development in the Northern Virginia area.

A lifelong resident of the Commonwealth of Virginia, Scott began his career in 1976 when he founded KT Enterprises, Inc. which is among the largest landscape development firms in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. KT and its affiliate company, Total Development Solutions, provides turn-key site development solutions for some of the most prestigious home builders, developers, and commercial contractors in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

 

Throughout his professional career and personal life, Scott has maintained an interest in the environment and ecological systems particularly as it pertains to finding the balance between human habitat needs and preserving our natural habitats.


Scott is also an advocate for promoting the use of native vegetation in our suburban and urban areas. His native plant nursery -- White House Natives -- is dedicated to the production of quality nursery stock for the wholesale landscape industry of Virginia and grows and harvests only the plant materials that are native to the Commonwealth.

Scott is devoted to the White House Farm Foundation, a non-profit educational foundation he founded after his purchase of the 270 acre historic White House property in Luray, Virginia. Through his work with the Foundation, he hopes to enrich individuals with the knowledge of and involvement in our natural ecological systems, sustainable agriculture, holistic community planning, conservation, and respect for local history and culture. His desire is to work with the community and its partners to answer some of the large questions facing conservation and development today:

1. How do we live in balance with our environment?
2. How can we enhance the landscape to feed wildlife and ourselves?
3. Why is it important to conserve land?
4. How can we support our local economies?
